Speaking to the media after the court proceedings, MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora said derogatory remarks against elected representatives chosen through a democratic process were unacceptable. She stated that such comments not only insult legislators but also disrespect the voters who elected them.

“It is not just an insult to MLAs, but also to the people who voted for them. Such objectionable language cannot be encouraged in society,” Arora said, adding that she had approached the court through legal channels to seek action in the matter.

The MLA further said the process of issuing notice to Swati Maliwal would now move forward in accordance with court procedure.

The case has intensified political discussions in Punjab, with indications that the controversy may further escalate in the coming days.
